Powers: How she came by her powers has yet to be determined, but Jinx possesses the ability to alter probability within a small localized field - presumably this is evidence of magical skill of some sort, or she may be a natural magic-user - which manifests in the form of bright pink blasts of energy. Her powers seem to only be capable of altering the probability in a negative way - in effect, she causes "bad luck."
Personality: Jinx puts on the appearance of being mischievous and fun-loving, but lurking beneath the surface is a driven, focused person with a short fuse. She's acutely aware of her own social standing - possibly a result of her upbringing? - and reacts viciously when she feels her upward mobility is threatened. Jinx also shows signs of a mild inferiority complex, which may be tied into the same cause. She takes her jobs very seriously, and it's no wonder that she rose to the top of her class at the HIVE Academy so quickly with the dedication she has shown during the time since observation began. When stressed, she often takes it out on those surrounding her.
Case History: The psychological wing of D.E.O. suggests that Jinx may have grown up in an, if not broken home, at the very least a home where she was not treated with much affection (c/r psych profile); her near-constant hunger to prove herself worthy of some unstated goal would seem to justify this statement. Why or how she gained extranormal powers is unclear; whoever Jinx used to be, her appearance has changed so drastically even we cannot determine her original identity without Jinx herself in our possession. At most all we can be sure of is that there were no children born with pale skin and pink hair at any point in recent history on Earth. What is reasonably certain is that skin tone, hair color, and eye color are all symptoms of whatever granted Jinx access to her abilities in the first place, and such a power source needs to be investigated in more detail. A research team has been reassigned to the task of searching through the library of mystical works we have on-site.
___Jinx became a petty thief (c/r attached copy of criminal record from the Juvenile Metahuman Reform Board), and for a time that was all she did. It's clear she must have wanted something more, because at age 11 she managed to rob a decently-sized bank and get away before the police or any local extranormal enforcement arrived on the scene. This felony gained both the D.E.O.'s attention, but also the notice of the HIVE Academy's shadowy Board of Directors (c/r possible aliases of the Brotherhood of Evil), who moved swiftly to snatch her up before D.E.O. agents could intercept the child (c/r Mission File Type 649 #8000268).
___Jinx spent the next four years absorbing the teachings of HIVE at an accelerated rate - it seems she was born to be a supervillain. She took to her lessons like a fish to water. For her final exam, she and two other top students were assigned to eliminate the Teen Titans (c/r Analysis of Metahuman Organizations and Power Structures Annual Report) by the enigmatic villain known as Slade (c/r File #4569), but failed. Jinx spent the next year repeating her senior year of education at the HIVE Academy - it was at this time that Brother Blood became the official Headmaster of the Academy, and began utilizing teaching methods that amounted to little more than brainwashing and mental torture. Jinx, obviously, did not take well to the experience, and her standing quickly plummeted. It took the assault of the Teen Titans upon the Academy's compound to turn her education around, apparently, as shortly after their destruction of the original Academy, she buckled back down, and by the time the Titans located and attacked the Academy's underground facility, Jinx had graduated, along with her comrades Gizmo (c/r File #64409) and Mammoth (c/r File #63567).
___After HIVE fell, she, Gizmo, and Mammoth, along with fellow HIVE students Private HIVE and See-More, formed a supervillain team known as the HIVE Five. This team was short-lived, however, and after an unfortunate encounter with the Teen Titans and an otherworldly entity known as Mother Mae-Eye that, apparently, indwelt in pies, the team briefly fractured, and Private HIVE was sent to a mental institution after suffering mental trauma from the encounter.
___Jinx herself was responsible for reorganizing the HIVE Five, and with the addition of Billy Numerous and Kid Wicked, also HIVE students, to the remaining four founding members, the supervillain team fell under the watchful eyes of the Brotherhood of Evil.
___Recent events indicate Jinx is no longer an active member of the HIVE Five after an encounter with the unaffiliated metahuman known as Kid Flash (c/r File #65124); data analysis is incomplete at this time.
